# NODE vs. Hyperwave

NODE generates transitions by matching and moving waveform features. Hyperwave generates the sequence from a broader set of source, processing and control relationships.

Generate geometric movement by defining source states and matching corresponding waveform landmarks.

Platform: Desktop standalone and plugin formats for Windows and macOS. Price: £19.95 standard.

Dedicated generator with a 14-day trial. An older official tutorials page shows a conflicting £15.96 sale; that reduced price was not verified as current. Confirm tax at checkout.

WAV wavetable output with size/resolution export choices; batch size variants represent one creation.

Generation UX: 7/10. Generation power: 4.5/10. Five means competent average.

## workflow

Define source states, identify corresponding features, adjust their positions and scan the generated transition.

## evolution

Multiple states and point correspondences control geometric movement. Arbitrary table-position easing is not established.

## composition

The construction combines shapes through correspondence; it is not an established arbitrary DSP-routing system.

## spectral

Geometry changes harmonic content indirectly. General amplitude/phase/placement programs over incoming partials are unverified.

## iteration

Re-edit source states and correspondences. A recurrent processing construction is not established.

## revision

Source states and landmarks remain editable. Replacing a sample while automatically preserving/retargeting anchors is unresolved.

## inspection

Visible numbered correspondences and scanning support diagnosis of wrong motion and cancellation.

Detailed beta demonstration shows both simple construction and the manual work of matching sampled shapes; current-version parity was not tested firsthand.

## Strengths

- Matching landmarks lets users define geometric motion that a generic amplitude crossfade would not express.
- Source states and correspondences stay editable, making local changes and their causes visible.
- A dedicated generator with scanning and export-size choices, without requiring purchase of a full synth.

## Limitations

- Complex sampled waves require careful landmark identification and matching; cancellation can require more source states.
- Arbitrary processor routing, per-harmonic programs and generic recurrence are not established in the assessed model.
- Within-cycle point curvature does not establish arbitrary table-position easing; automatic source replacement/anchor retargeting is unresolved.

The desired evolution is movement of identifiable waveform features and you want a dedicated geometric authoring tool.

Your idea is easier to express through processing relationships, spectral rules or recurrent transformations than through waveform correspondence.
