# Phase Plant vs. Hyperwave

Phase Plant generates tables by animating native tools over frame position and committing their results. Hyperwave retains the connected generating process for further upstream changes.

Generate movement by keyframing a tool or effect across table position, previewing the result and committing the sequence.

Platform: Desktop plugin for Windows and macOS. Price: $199 perpetual.

Full synth and wavetable editor; manufacturer states local taxes are included. Optional all-plugin subscription $9.99/month with annual rewards toward ownership. Unrestricted 10-day trial.

Native table saving and WAV/FLAC wavetable export; processing is written into frame data.

Generation UX: 6.5/10. Generation power: 6/10. Five means competent average.

## workflow

Establish source data, keyframe a transformation at selected positions, preview/tweak it, then commit and continue processing.

## evolution

Tool parameters are keyframeable across the table. Multiple markers can localize the path; arbitrary easing is not established.

## composition

Sequential tools/effects and selected-region combinations produce new table data. General retained parallel routing is unverified.

## spectral

Direct amplitude/phase editing and keyframed fixed spectral operations provide control; arbitrary per-bin rule programs are unverified.

## iteration

Apply another operation to the committed result. This is manual successive processing without an exposed generic pass controller.

## revision

Before Done, revise or cancel the active operation. Later source changes do not have an established automatic replay path through prior commits.

## inspection

Waveform, spectrum, whole-table overview and live preview support diagnosis. Editing position and oscillator playback position are distinct states.

Current documentation confirms commit semantics. The detailed demonstrated filter task uses historical version 1.7.4; old preview reports are not current defect claims.

## Strengths

- Keyframe a transformation at chosen table positions instead of manually constructing every intermediate result.
- Active tools provide nondestructive adjustment with audible/visual feedback before committing.
- Filter, phase, harmonic and other operations support purposeful baked evolution within the synth.

## Limitations

- Done or switching tools commits the active operation; a persistent editable stack of all earlier operations is not established.
- The full synth's modular routing is not automatically a native wavetable-generation graph.
- Arbitrary easing functions, per-bin programs and generic recurrent processing are not established in the inspected editor workflow.

You already use Phase Plant and want a direct preview-adjust-commit workflow for baking parameter gestures into tables.

You expect to change earlier stages repeatedly, combine parallel processor paths or author custom per-harmonic rules while retaining the whole construction.
