256-sample table

A 256-sample wavetable is a table whose frames are only 256 samples long — the short-frame standard used across much of the Eurorack wavetable ecosystem.

Synthesis Technology's E352 and E370 and the Piston Honda MK3 load banks of 256-sample waves from microSD, and hardware import paths such as the Korg modwave's 16-bit mode expect the same frame length. The compact frames cap each cycle at 128 partials, which suits bright synth tones and simple shapes but limits how detailed a low, harmonically rich frame can be.
