Release notes / newest first
Every Hyperwave update.
The same dated notes the app shows in its changelog window, from the first shipped version to today.
Version 0.2.13, 2026-07-21
v0.2.13- Connections again keep clear port exits and compact orthogonal routes, while tight node gaps and manual anchors continue to route safely.
Version 0.2.12, 2026-07-19
v0.2.12- Preset changes and graphics recovery no longer leave old node controls or GPU resources active, preventing intermittent canvas failures after editing Init or returning to the app.
- Browser error reports now ignore empty cross-origin placeholders while preserving useful failure messages.
Version 0.2.11, 2026-07-18
v0.2.11- Production monitoring can now emit one explicit, non-sensitive diagnostic error with the deployed revision to confirm that private source maps resolve correctly. The one-shot diagnostic never runs automatically.
Version 0.2.10, 2026-07-18
v0.2.10- Production releases now report their exact deployed revision so rollout monitoring can verify the live version before announcing an update.
Version 0.2.9, 2026-07-17
v0.2.9- The factory Sahelanthropus preset now opens with a cleaner node layout while keeping the same sound.
Version 0.2.8, 2026-07-17
v0.2.8- XY pad values now use compact one-decimal readouts. Blue preview labels move directly to each collision-safe position while retaining their opacity fades, and nearby same-axis stacks share a clean text edge.
Version 0.2.7, 2026-07-17
v0.2.7- XY pad constant-preview values now move smoothly into and away from aligned corners without snapping, while opposite-corner X/Y stacks retain one clean text edge.
Version 0.2.6, 2026-07-17
v0.2.6- XY pad blue Y values now stay aligned with their guide endpoint and stack above or below nearby white values instead of shifting sideways.
Version 0.2.5, 2026-07-17
v0.2.5- XY pad constant-preview values now share consistent rows, begin moving before nearby values collide, and never enter a blocked position before settling.
Version 0.2.4, 2026-07-10
v0.2.4- Connections now wait for their endpoint nodes to finish appearing when a patch is restored or a node is created, then grow from the source port to the target port.
- Curve Index Remap is now called Position Remap everywhere in the editor. Existing patches keep working exactly as before.
- Value node modulation now acts like an offset: the connected signal is added to the value set on the node, including Waves sent through Value into the Result preview. Root Result output clamps finite peaks to [-1, 1] while retaining raw extrema and clipped counts; node and target inspector previews keep finite samples raw.
- Double-click a parameter knob to type directly inside it, or right-click it to restore its default. The editor now opens reliably with one normal double-click, stays focused instead of being closed by the canvas click, remains above other workbench overlays, and still respects each knob's limits. The Pixi canvas also initializes reliably on a cold launch.
- Colored parameter knobs now keep their rounded inner curves smooth at fractional display scaling.
- Curved node-title icons now render smoothly instead of stepping through hard pixels.
- Remap now has the same Gravity, Shift, Scale, Smoothing, and Wrap controls as Curve Index Remap, with a blue line previewing the transformed curve. Smoothing runs from 0 (the exact authored curve) to 1 (maximum blur), while Scale grows both nodes' unipolar result from zero; negative Scale still inverts it.
- Waveshaper now uses a direct Symmetry switch instead of the Unipolar and Bipolar picker. Existing saved curves keep their current symmetry state.
- Input and multi-output Result labels now sit visually centered beside their Pixi ports.
Version 0.2.3, 2026-07-09
v0.2.3- Node mode, model, and type controls now open the same searchable picker as Distortion instead of using canvas dropdowns or segmented selectors. The Waves waveform carousel keeps its previous and next controls.
- Curve Index Remap now has Gravity, Shift, and Scale controls, plus a blue preview line showing the transformed curve.
- Trackpad panning now defaults to the reversed direction and can be changed with Invert trackpad pan in Settings.
- Trackpad pinch zoom is now three times more sensitive.
- The launch walkthrough now teaches trackpad pinch zoom and two-finger panning first, while keeping mouse and Ctrl/Cmd-drag alternatives.
- The Result node now uses a clearer finish-marker icon, and node title icons should look less thin or choppy.
- Idle node body borders are back as a faint divider-colored line; selected node borders still show when a node is selected.
- Port highlight bleed now follows rounded node corners without removing the bleed from full-size nodes, and Pixi node bodies use the larger shared card corner radius.
- Port highlight bleed now grows out from the port, and overlapping connections now hover only the top cable.
Version 0.2.2, 2026-07-08
v0.2.2- Curve Index Remap now works when its input comes from another signal node, not only direct Sample Position or Wavetable Index sources.
- The Trig section now includes Tan, Atan, Asin, Acos, Atan2, Sin Cycle, Cos Cycle, and Tanh.
- Node titles, node picker rows, and distortion model picker rows now show icons. Node title shells also stay grid-sized and wide enough for the icon plus title text.
- Distortion nodes now use a shorter grid-aligned transfer preview with the model picker below it, and no longer show anti-alias switches, normalize switches, or duplicate drive text; anti-alias and normalize still start on for new nodes.
- Distortion Bitcrush now responds to its bits control, and downsample is a smoother normalized control from 0 to 1 with finer control near 0.
- Transport and inspector previews no longer crash when old audio buffers are recycled in the background.
- Added a compact One Minus node and bound it to the O key.
- Removed the black outline from workbench connections.
- Selected nodes now highlight their attached connections in yellow.
- Endpoint dots and node-edge segments touched by yellowed connections now turn yellow too.
- Connected Pixi port dots now render as solid circles again.
- Yellowed connections now render above non-highlighted connections.
- Connections can now be started from input ports as well as output ports.
- Connections being dragged now use the same avoid-routing path as committed connections when the router is ready.
- Connection previews now keep their target-side S bend while you drag toward a port.
- Connection previews now keep the same avoid-routing lane they will use after release when other paths are nearby.
- Connection corners and rounded bends now render seamlessly.
- AA texture cleanup no longer crashes after a texture source is gone.
- Knob rail corners now render without visible spacing marks.
- Highlighted connection endpoints now add a soft yellow gradient on the node border only after the hover wave reaches that endpoint.
- Hover-created endpoint bleed now grows out from the socket with a fast-then-slow 100ms curve, and overlapping cables only hover the top connection.
- Unconnected ports on selected Pixi nodes now softly bleed their port color into the yellow node border.
- Pixi node title dividers now sit under the border instead of cutting into selected node outlines.
- Hovering a connection that is already highlighted by a selected node no longer restarts the endpoint border gradient.
- Node body borders now stay crisp during slow low-zoom changes without swelling as you zoom out.
- Dragging from empty space inside a Pixi node body now selects the node instead of starting a selection box.
- Built-in Pixi source labels now center in the safe space before their right-side port.
- Simple one-input, one-output Pixi nodes like Normalize now use a compact centered label with ports on both sides.
- Single-input Result nodes now use the same compact centered micro-node layout without the extra signal body row.
- Compact Pixi nodes and node body panels now follow the app theme's normal corner radius instead of over-rounding into pill shapes.
- Pixi toggle switches now animate smoothly when turned off.
- Two-finger trackpad scrolling now pans smoothly around the Pixi canvas.
- Trackpad pinch and reverse-pinch now zoom the Pixi canvas in and out.
- Trackpad panning now uses native scroll movement instead of raw wheel deltas, making diagonal two-finger movement less axis-locked where the browser exposes both axes.
- Middle-mouse panning now stays on canvas instead of triggering browser autoscroll.
