Hard sync

Hard sync is an oscillator arrangement in which a master oscillator resets a second, detuned oscillator every time the master completes its own cycle, producing a biting, formant-rich tone.

Each reset interrupts the second oscillator's waveform and adds harmonics. Detuning changes those harmonics. A wavetable can store successive frames that approximate different sync settings, making wavetable position a control for the stored sweep.
