Phase distortion

Phase distortion reshapes a waveform by varying the rate at which an oscillator reads it within each cycle.

Casio's CZ series used phase distortion to read a sine table through a variable phase curve. Steep parts of that curve add harmonics as the control changes. Wavetable tools can use the same calculation in warp modes and formula-generated frames.
