Korg DW-8000

The Korg DW-8000 (1985) is a hybrid synthesizer with 16 stored digital waveforms and an analog filter. Its DWGS oscillators select a fixed waveform rather than scan a wavetable.

Each oscillator selects one DWGS waveform, including saw, piano-like, and bell-like shapes. The analog circuitry then filters the sound. The DWGS stores single-cycle waves, but it does not scan a series of frames with a position control.
