PPG Wave

The PPG Wave is the synthesizer line that introduced commercial wavetable synthesis, built by Wolfgang Palm's Palm Products GmbH from 1981 to 1987.

The 1978 Wavecomputer 360 scanned 30 wavetables of 64 waves each. The later Wave series paired digital wavetable oscillators with analog filters and amplifiers. Many later wavetable instruments also use ordered single-cycle waves, position scanning, and interpolation between adjacent waves.
