Waldorf Microwave

The Waldorf Microwave (1989) is the rack synthesizer that carried PPG's wavetable lineage forward after PPG closed, pairing wavetable scanning with an analog filter.

The Microwave was a rack-mounted instrument with its own wavetables. Later models included the DSP-based Microwave II and XT. Waldorf also released wavetable instruments such as the Blofeld, Quantum, and Iridium.
