How to import wavetables into Hydrasynth

Ashun Sound MachinesHardware synthVerified

No — you cannot import wavetables into Hydrasynth.

In short: No import path — wavelists morph 8 of the 219 built-in waves; Mutants sculpt instead.

Read on for what the documentation actually says, the closest thing to a custom table this instrument offers, and where a Hyperwave export can go instead.

What Hydrasynth expects

No user wavetable or WAV import path is documented for any Hydrasynth variant: oscillators choose from 219 built-in single-cycle waveforms, and a 'user wavetable' is a wavelist of up to 8 of those waves that WaveScan morphs between. The ASM Manager librarian imports patch banks only.

Can you import wavetables into Hydrasynth at all?

No — there is no way to load a Hyperwave export, or any audio file, as oscillator content on a Hydrasynth. No user wavetable import exists in any Hydrasynth variant, desktop to keyboard.

The closest substitute is the wavelist: a Hydrasynth "user wavetable" is a list of up to 8 waves chosen from the 219 built-in single-cycle waveforms, which WaveScan morphs between. Pick the factory waves nearest the frames you designed, morph between them, and use the Mutants to bend them further — that is the toolkit for custom oscillation.

If you need your own frames playing, move the table to a synth that imports them — Serum, Vital, or any of the hardware import targets — and keep the Hydrasynth for its factory waves.

If something goes wrong

Is there any way to load my own wavetables into a Hydrasynth?
No. There is no way to load a Hyperwave export — or any audio file — as oscillator content; the closest substitute is rebuilding a table as an 8-slot wavelist chosen from the 219 factory waves.
