2. okwt

   okwt keeps the format flexibility in the terminal: free and MIT-licensed, it writes packed float32 WAV (2,048-sample frames, up to 256) and Surge/Bitwig .wt files with optional 'uhWT'/'srge' metadata chunks.

   It converts audio, images, or arbitrary files in one command, but there is no graphical interface and the default output caps at 256 frames.

3. Waved Studio

   If the desktop install was the whole problem, Waved Studio stays in the browser for free: a 64-frame draw canvas with FM operators, motion curves, and a 3D topology view, plus real-time Web Audio preview.

   Exports are documented for Serum 2, Vital, and Phase Plant — nothing to install, but no batch export and no hardware layouts.

4. Vital

   Vital ships a full wavetable synth with its editor free in the Basic tier — draw tables, convert samples, or generate them from text.

   The editor is one panel of a large desktop instrument, and text-to-wavetable runs as a web service limited to 5 requests a day without a subscription.
